Weights on TO-30 Front End?

About how much weight is needed to add to the Ferguson TO-30 front axle to offset the Max lift of the rear 3-point Hydralic system. I don't want to blow off the relief valve just get closer to the capasity befor the front tires lift. With 600 lbs of hay and 300 lbs of fork lift attached it gets light and the steering is not the best. On level ground its OK but pulling a 4/12+ pitch hill it's shakey. This is the most I would be lifting with it. Unless it could move the 750 lb bales too. Mark H.

Mark, your question has been addressed before. Run a search here for front weights. My TO30 has the factory split front wheel weights that fit in the inside dish of the wheels and weigh about 50 lbs each wheel. Adding weight to the front bumper will place excessive stress on the spindles and bearings.

Ray; That what I thought about adding the weight on a bumper, and with my 10 inch rims I have I am now tring to design a wheel weight for them. One that I can bolt right on to the rim that is two peice with a ring of bolts all the way around the lug nuts. (my rims are bolted together) I think I will back up that small hill from now on tho and let the tork push the front down instead of up. It dose OK on level ground the way it is now. Mark H.

I had a MF 35. The only round bale I could not move was a 6x6 John Deere! The most weight I ever carried on the front was 240 lbs.
