HELP!!!!! !!!!! My TE20 petrol starts first time but runs with a misfire i have replaced the plugs, leads, points (could it be my carb please help) stephen age14

I'm 16 and I've got a Fergy which had that same problem. Check all the wires around the distributor and induction coil, ensure there is a snug fit. On my one, a small wire wasn't properly connected, and once fixed, made the tractor run perfectly.

The first thing I'd check is fuel flow. Rust,water and bad fuel will restrict the entire system. First check the sediment bowl for full flow at it's outlet. If that's ok, reconnect the line and remove it at the carb. and check for full flow there. If that's ok,now you get to rebuild the carb. Don't use compressed air to blow into the carb. inlet, you'll dislodge the small screen there to catch rust,dirt,etc. and you must then disassemble the carb. for sure to replace it. You can add fuel system cleaner to the gas tank in the proper proportion to keep it clean and trouble free. Carb. rebuild kits are available from the suppliers listed at the left. The next item to check is the valves. A compression check will identify a leaking/burned valve if performed correctly.
