I have the chance to buy a nice looking tea 20
with great tin and fair rubber for 1k. the trouble
is that it needs a carb due to a flusterated owner
who hit it trying to unstick the float. the local
new holland dealer wants $600. to change the manifold and replace the carb off a to 20. i have a shed full of old ac's ikeep running so i am used to some make dos.i would like to keep it as original as possible if i can find a good used carb and rebuild kit. ferg's are kind of rare in this part of the country. is it worth the hassel?
thanks, mike

Another yeah! TEA20s may not be common there but them are lots of them around in other places. With the Power Of The Internet you can probably find a carb someplace and get it running without much trouble.
Go for it - you know you want to...

One technique is to give her the tractor, her very own...! Course you might have to paint it pink or something.... Really though, $1K is cheap if only have manifold and carb problem. Whether you need it is another question. But tell her you can always sell it for a profit. So it's an "investment."
