Serial number confussion

I have a ferguson tractor with serial number TEA354552. Is it possible to tell anything from only this number? I specially think of model, building year and etc.

Yours is a TEA-20 made in England in 1953 as the serial no.s for 1953 start at 310780 to 367998 they were fitted with a Standard petrol engine. I have a 1949 petrol/tvo model complete with the origanal instruction book, if you require info I can scan it and e-mail the info to you.

A friend of mine purchased a TEA-20 tractor without a data plate and was told by the last onwer that it was a TO-20. The engine was siezed and the tractor looked to be in good shape. So he pulled it apart a discovered it did not look like or even spec out to the TO-20 manual. Then he brought it to me to figure out what he really had. From reading your question you have a TEA-20,petrol(gas) motor that was either built in Canada or in England. To figure out what the year is I will need some information off the distributor tag. The serial on the block is correct to a TEA-20. I've spent over 3 years rebuilding this present one and have (believe)have figured out most of the requirments to figure out what others have. Also there should be a metal tag glued on the oil filter cannister and that will give other clues too. So send some more information and I will try to let you know what you really have.

I believe that your tractor is a TEA-20 made in late 1953. Manufactured in the UK with the Standard Motor Co 28 HP engine.

We have just purchased a TEA 354320. We are not sure where to find parts and the right info on this tractor.Different people tell us different things. Help please. Thanks for your time.The engine SER SC58904E. Tiemo

they are both 1953 models by the sounds of things. around 1956 mr massey purchased the fergy co & called the tractors Massey Ferguson from then on. service manuals are available for the old grey fergies. hope this helps,
