I am considering buying a TED20 in poor condition to restore and use on a small property in Australia. The tractor in question is complete, will run briefly using aerostart, tyres crook but servicable and is only AUD$800. What do you reckon?
Thanks

I reckon its a bargain provided it will run and hydraulics operate as they should.

At the worst you will have $800 worth of spare parts which will certainly be needed along the way!

If you're looking at it from a financial point of view, it's a guarantee you will spend more restoring it than if you just bought a better one at the start. That has always been my experience with both cars and tractors, and, I think, everyone else's too. However, I keep buying old cars and tractors anyway. Now I only buy them if they are usable right away, and then fix them up gradually so I can enjoy both the use of them and the restoration process. For that TED - you might be able to get it running pretty easily. If it's been sitting a long while the carb or fuel lines might just be gunked up.

P.S. - hope you're far from the fires. Looks bad.
