I have the add-on hand clutch on my TO30. I was installed by the H.Ferguson dealer in 1953. This was originally made for the Ford tractors then, but since both tractors are quite similar it works on the Fergusons equally well. The hand clutch lever is just above the PTO lever in the same inspection cover. This connects to a small(about 6") clutch disc added into the diff. driveshaft. I still don't understand how such a small clutch can hold the torque, but it does. I suggest contacting salvage yards for this add-on, see link below.

Ray, I thank you for the info. I was also wondering if you have a hi and lo gears (8 speed).
The reason I'm asking is because my Hi/lo lever is
located on the RH. inspection cover. This dose not
leave much room in the gearbox. Most hi/lo levers
are towards the front of the gearbox in the clutch area RH side.If you would let me know what setup you have. Thank You, Val.

Nope, mine is the standard 4sp tranny. The hand clutch lever is mounted in the LH cover with the PTO lever, and is the only non-original part on the tractor- not counting the seat cover/cushion. I would enjoy the hi-lo aux. trans. though.
