Something's up with my charging system and I think it's the regulator. When I went to take it off though I discovered about 5 wires going into its underside via a sort of a terminal block. My question is - does the whole "terminal block" come off as a unit, or does each wire come out one at a time. If the latter, how do you get the wires out? I didn't want to tug too hard and disable the tractor.
Thanks,
Jim

Jim, There should be a insulator strip held in place with two screws. If you remove the screws the wire should pull out. Save the connectors, they are a funnel shape and are a taper fit in the regultor. The end of the wire mashes over they are not soldered. Crud gets it the connectors so you may have to use some penetrating oil.
Terminals will be marked D E A F.
D= dynamo (generator)
E= earth (ground)
A= armature
F= field
The rivets can be drilled out of the black cover and adjustments can be made in the regulator itself but without a manual it would be tough. They are well made and usually clean as a whistle inside. I would guess it aint the reg. but who knows.
Good luck,
