Tef ID problem

Please could anyone settle this dispute? I have a TEF20 deisel grey 1954 fergie without position control on the hydraulics. The control valve has been replaced and when I did this I noticed the top of the yoke that is fixed to the top piston and draft control spring has been repaired and appears to be ok. Still I have no position control. I asked the previous owner, a friend, if he had position control when he first had the tractor, he told me no grey fergies had position control and I needed chains and a notched top link to set the depth of my plough. There is an adjustable stop on the position control quadrant which leads me to think he may be wrong. Anyone know if my tractor has position control or what I can look for to find out?

Your tractor does not have position control; your friend is right. The control on the quadrant just moves the control valve in the hydraulic pump, but if the implement drifts up or down, there is no feedback mechanism to the control valve to correct it. There is an external position-control device available that provides the necessary feedback. It connects between the right-hand lift arm and the control lever, such that it raises the control handle if the implement drops, and vice-versa. The adjustable stop on the control quadrant is a red herring. No position control :(

Hi Kirt,For position control,you need a Zane Thang. Go over 9n2n8n board and serch for zane or zane thang.I bought a to20 friday and i too will have to get one.Good luck Farmer(Ga)
