Does anyone have the ability to post a shop manual diagram of the brake assembly of a Ferguson to-20 or the rear axle assembly? I've got a leaky seal and need new brake pads, too. Just want to know this job might entail and the tools & parts I'll need to do the job right on both axles.

The axle seals are not suppose to leak out onto the brake pads because this causes the brake pads to slip.

To replace the seals and brakes, you have to remove the axles from the axles housing. Then there will be a lock collar on the end of the axle. This needs to be broken and the seal replaced. Now I personally took my axles to the MF dealer and had them do it. It took them an hour to do what would have taken me a few nights working in the shop to do it. As for the brakes, they are pretty easy and straight forward. Swap out the old brakes and adjust them so when you spin them they just drag a little.

An old time tractor mechanic explained to me that TO 20's axles were designed to leak onto the brake linings to keep them from wearing out.
