I just phoned a guy who's selling a 1957 FE 35 with serial number SDM 22396.
Does this tractor have live PTO?

Regards Gunnar

The prefix letters at the front of the serial # is S standard width D diesel engine M dual clutch so it does have live PTO

Thanks a lot Big Dean.

Another question, is it possible to build in a multipower-pump in this tractor to increase hydraulic capasity?

Best regards

Gunnar

Gunnar I have never try to do it. I was told my one of our Massey service reps. that he and a mechanic at another dealer try to use one for a loader by removeing the line going to the Multipower valve at the pump & running it though a two spool valve with a relief valve. He said it did not work very well. The Multipower would have to be isolated to do this the multipower would not stand the pressure.

The Multipower is a hydrauliclly shift on the go two speed built into the front of the transmission with the pump mounted piggyback on the the three point pump. Very handy when they are working right. Very expensive to repair when they are not. I have a lot of information on my photo site about the Multipower transmission.
