TO35 Carter UT carb problem

I'm double posting here and MF forum.

First, thanks to everyone who gave me pointers on my 9/14 post "Weird TO35 Problem" (espec. Big Dean!). The cam gear nut was loose and let cam walk backward. Now fixed and runs great except carb.

It's a Carter UT that leaks badly internally. Not enough to flood engine, but when not running I have to shut off sediment bowl. I can not find a rebuild kit locally for this carb. I have reset float three times, still no help. I&T manual says setting should be 11/64", but I am way beyond that now. Needle seals when I have it apart & blowing into inlet. No trash in fuel line because I have put in a new in-line filter past the sediment bowl + new hose.

Does anybody know where I can find a rebuild kit for this Carter UT? Any other suggestions?

Jim: I have a Carter UT on my '56 TO-35, and have had similar experiences. You can get a rebuild kit for this carb. from a M.F. dealer in Sharon, PA. USA. The name is Watson's Equipment Inc. Their phone number is (724)- 346-6514, ask for Dave in the parts department. They are very knowlegable and helpful. They had a surprising number of parts on hand, reasonably priced and delivered (UPS) within a couple of days. If you can, be prepared with the carburator tag number. The tag is usually found under one of the carburator's top screws.

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately the tag is long gone. I&T manual lists 3 UT numbers, so I was hoping I could get in contact with a dealer that could ascertain if they were vastly different or not. Hopefully, if it is like most automotive kits, one kit covers all bases.
