TEA 20 Fuel Problem?

I have just purchased a TEA 20 Petrol. With the petrol tank above the engine the petrol tank and petrol get hot. The pressure builds up in the tank and a fairly high pressure air/vapour jet squirts out of the vent hole in the petrol cap. The engine does not seem to be overheating as there is no steam or other sign. I have only hade the tractor a couple of weeks. Is this heating normal?????

Also have the same popping noise as in post "spluttery TE20" dated 14 Aug 01. Read with interest the cure. Will let you know if I have the same problem (ie. valve clearance)

Thanks

Pete

ps I have posted this query before but got no response . Thought Id give it another go.

This problem of hot gas tank has come up before.
One person taped a piece of aluminun foil under the gas tank to prevent heat transfer. I would check the engine timing .
