T20 Hydraulics need advice

I have a TEF 20 with a hydraulic problem. When the lifting arms are raised they will rise to their maximum height and hold, when they are lowered they will crash down and stay put until raised. I am not able to hold the lifting arms anywhere between up or down. The control valve on the pump was renewed this week and still the problem is there. Could anyone advise me what may be wrong. What am I missing here. I can set my lift position anywhere between up and down and itstays there. I didn't know this was wrong. But I have only owned the tractor a short time.

I like answering this question!!!

Their is nothing wrong with your lift. This is the way Harry created it in the beginning.

Harry's great contribution to agriculture was the invention of constant draft control for the implement and the three point hitch.

While the tractor has constant draft control it is not designed to have position or heitht control. When it was invented things like a bush hog or box blade had only been thought of by Leonardo Devinci so it didn't need it.

I invented a device about two years ago and introduced it on Yesterday's tractors web site and have been marketing them ever since. I have sold them all over the world where English speaking people live. It works! Gives you position control for the aggrivating Ferguson system lift.
