My neighbor has allowed me to fix up his Ferguson TO-20. I've been through the archives, for paint codes. What I'm looking for is a paint in both spray can and quart or gallon. I'd like to be able to paint as I go with spray cans, and not have to set up the entire spray rig just for a few small parts. It's been out in the elements for a couple of years without running. I'd like to get it running, then restore it, as time allows. Any suggestions?

For a real good match, although expensive, try NAPA Gray 99L 3740. You will need hardener. And you will need special thinner. Cheap thinner will not touch it. But you will have good paint and the correct color. NAPA has a spray can that is close. Go to a NAPA paint store and ask for help matching that color.

Rust-Oleum makes a great matching Freguson gray in spray cans called Smoke Gray and is great for touch up and small parts but is softer than desired without the usual hardener.

Geez, I wish I had a neighbor who I could "allow" to fix up my TO-20!! The closest match to Ferguson grey that I have ever found in a spray can was from my local Massey Ferguson dealer. They carry a generic no-brand implement paint. It's enamel and seems to hold up very well. With a little luck, your dealer might carry the same stuff.

Well, it was just going to sit there. Too good of a tractor to sell,he says. I offered to buy. This way we can both get some use out of it. Who knows what will happen. I've spent money more foolishly than this. dw

I've always used the Rustoleum smoke gray. Looks very close to correct, unless youre a fanatic. Available in quarts and aresol, cheap, everywhere. Use the hardener if you mix and spray. Holds up great! Jeff Fry
