TO 30 clutch doesn't release properly

With the tractor at a fast idle in neutral, I press the clutch all the way and it takes the transmission 10 secs or so to stop spinning so I can put it in first or reverse.
Can the clutch be adjusted without splitting the tractor? If I separate the tractor I will put in new clutch,PP,& TO. I have the space and equipment I need to split, but I've never done it and am leery of doing it without supervision. I do have the manuals.

You have a normal clutch it seems. Most all gear driven transmissions perform like this. Fact is, the newer tractors take as long or longer for the shafts to stop turning after running in neutral, I also have a MF135 and it takes 2X as long for the trans to coast to a stop after idleing in neutral. I wouldn't worry unless the clutch won't disengage or slips. BTW, the adjustment spec is: the clutch pedal should be 3/16" from the bottom of the foot peg.Put a bar in the clutch rod and loosen the pedal bolt, turn the bar until contact with the throwout bearing is felt, adj. the pedal to 3/16" clearance and tighten bolt.That is the only clutch adjustment.
