I haven't posted to this board for a while, my tractor kinda got put on the back burner when I got my truck. But, now, it's time to re-build it's Z134, and, I'm thinking, why not turbocharge the sucker? It's heavy duty enough, and, it should be very turbo friendly. What do you guys think?
Building new manifolds is not a big deal, and, I'm getting sick of that Carter UT giving me nightmares....

It sounds like a great little project. That's part of the fun with messing around with these old tractors. Some folks like to keep them squeeky original and some like to tinker. I think both are great past-times. Please keep us informed. Who knows, you may come up with something everybody will want.

Yes, little is the key word. I'm having a hard time finding a turbocharger small to make a decent amount of boost without going over 2400 rpm... I'm going to keep the boost low enough that it'll still run on regular without any problems, figure I'll end up with ~50 hp.
My tractor would require too way much work to restore, and it wouldn't make much sense, it's a working tractor, and tinkering is a very addictive hobby... So, even though it's #140963, it's getting a little boost in power...

Mess up the engine? Heck no, I'm just looking for more power, and a turbo is hardly new technology, they were invented in the early 1900's(I think 1902 to be exact.) And, I won't be adding EFI either, just a simple blow through carb setup....
There'd be no modifications to the engine, just the intake and exhaust manifolds....
