Last year I won a 1953 Ferguson TO-30 in a raffle sponsored by the New Hampshire Antique Tractor Association. It was love at first sight for me, but it took quite a bit of persuasion to convince my wife that keeping it was a good idea. Well, I'm happy to report that my "salesmanship" worked...we're keeping it. Now my next goal is to get it running in good shape. I'm not one to look a "gift" horse in the mouth, but let's just say that it's beauty was only skin deep. It's in BAAAAD need of an overhaul; it's as smokey as a pool hall on Saturday night. I can probably figure it out, but I don't want to practice on my only machine, and one as fine as this one is. (As bad as it runs, I'm only the second owner!) I also don't have the time to do the work myself and get it out of the garage before Winter sets in...guess who's car would be out in the snow? Does anybody know an experienced Fergy mechanic in Eastern Pennsylvania or West-Central New Jersey? A name and a phone number (or town, shop or whatever) would be most appreciated. If it helps, it has a Continental Z-129 engine.

Contact a local MF dealer. They will usually have a recommendation if they are'nt equipted to do the work.

sonofagun. I was supposed to win that ! I bought $20 worth of tickets for it ! It sure looked nice with that fresh gray paint. I wanted a 53 to go with my 52. Sorry to hear that it's not so great but if you don't want it, I'll be glad to refund you your raffle ticket price and come and pick it up. Can't help you with your search for someone in your area as I live in eastern Ma. Good luck with it.
