Keeping fergie exhausts from rusting

How do you fergie owners keep your exhaust's from rusting? My new paint work looks great, with the exeption of the exhaust which the paint burnt off within a couple of weeks.
I have the materials and equipment to make a chrome exhaust, howevwer this whould mean reducing the diameter my 15mm, would this have any bad implications?
I would like my exhaust to look as nice as the rest of the tractor!

You can by high temp paint from the eastwood company (www.eastwoodco.com) which will even stay on the manifold. I used it on mine and so far it has all stayed on. The color isn't even close but at least its painted.
