With today's UK petrol prices, running my TED20 is costing a fortune! How much can I save by using TVO?
What do you need to make it?
Is the stuff needed to make it easy to get hold of, or would I have to bue in bulk from oil companies ect?

Mike, You will save quite a significant amount of money running on TVO. I use 85% paraffin (premium grade domestic heating oil), 10% petrol and 5% red diesel. The diesel acts as an upper cylinder lubricant and the petrol enhances the ignition of the paraffin. Couple of things you should watch. Firstly, make sure your engine is hot before switching over to TVO, otherwise you'll stall. Before stopping the engine, switch back to petrol and run for a few minutes. If you leave TVO in the carb float bowl you'll never start the engine again without draining the float bowl of TVO and replacing it with petrol. As you will find out, there is nothing like the smell of TVO, especially when combined with new mown hay - childhood memories!!!
Regards,
Pete.
