I got a kick out of your comment, Jim. (See post: I need a new steering gearbox - 7/20/01)

I don't know why the tractor is green. It's not JD green either. I'm in the process if stripping the hood and instrument panel and this poor tractor has been the original gray, very dark green, powder blue (ugh), some kind of metal flake orange, and the almost JD green that it is now. I'm not sure if I'll have time to completely strip the whole tractor before I re-paint her. The weeds in the field out by the road are up to my waist and they whisper to me at night - "mow me, mow me".

The guy who used to own my farm used this TO-30 to pull a float in the County Fair parade each year. The paint is about a mile thick in some places.

I envy you, I have a new 6' king kutter finnish mower and have only mowed with it maybe 6 times this year. My 2.3 acres is brown as dirt:( Green with envy.
