Malcolm, According to the excellent book, The Ferguson Tractor Story, by Stuart Gibbard, ISBN 1 903366 08 9, Australia was the srecond largest market for Ferguson tractors and 51,075 were sold there between 1949 and 1956. They were shipped from Banner Lane in part knocked down form then assembled in Sydney or Melbourne. The petrol TEA was most popular followed by the diesel TEF. Most petrol/paraffin tractors were converted back to straight petrol. Stuart Gibbard's book is an encyclopaedia on Fergusons and well worth buying. I really recommend it.
Hope this helps, Pete.

the TE {tractor England} was first with the Conti motor around mid to late 1940s. the greys went to about the mid 50s.
