Does anyone know where I might find a wiring harness for a 1953 TO-30 or should I just make my own what have the rest of you done in the past? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Mike

Jack - you know the old saying "The only stupid question is the one that is not asked"

A wiring harness is simply any group of electrical wires that are bundled together. You can see your wiring harness under the hood of your car where there is a "bundle" of wires and every now and then a wire sticks out to go to it's destination or connection point. In the photo that John posted here he shows what we call a harness even though the wires are not bundled into one wrapped group. Years ago the manufacturers used to wrap the bundle with cotton electrical tape to keep things nice and tidy. Today the "wrap" is usually a plastic tube with a slit at each location where a wire exits the bundle.

I know - I know. I'll go sit in the corner and shut up for a while. I got too windy.

Mike, I gave up and made my own using the shop manual for a wire color guide and I think it looks pretty good. I am told one can get the coated cotton insulated wire if you really want to be fussy, but I don't know where to get it and i have asked on this forum. I recommend at least 12 guage because of the 6v system to keep voltage drop to a minimum.
