The steering sector arm on the left side of my tractor is wearing a groove in the casing on the trans./bell housing. How does one go about adjusting for this? Any advise welcome.

Tyler, The sector arms have an adjustment screw at the side of the steering box near the top. A locking nut holds the setting. It is used to keep the sectors and the steering pinion gear meshed so it doesn't slip out of time. You could try loosing the screw on the left but not so much as to allow the teeth to slip. If that doesn't work you need to remove the steering housing to access the sectors. They lock onto the steering arm. The sector may need to be moved inboard on arm forcing the arm shaft out and giving more clearance. I would change the seals while I was at it. Not a big job and they can be found at a bearing supply firm. Good luck,
