Oil filter is available from the local MF dealer, Carquest, or NAPA store. The oil bath air filter is easy to renew, just clean out the old/dirty oil and sludge, refill with engine oil and replace on tractor. The trans/axle/hyd system uses 80W straight mineral oil, 6 gallons. No filter is used, just drain(3 plugs)and refill. Water will leak by the gear shift lever into the oil and contaminate it. I used a clear silicone sealant to seal the boot to the lever and stopped the leak.

Do not try to pull anything out. To remove the metal bowl, loosen the thumbscrew that holds the bottom "metal bowl" to the main housing. Since no oil was in it, I suggest using carb. or brake parts cleaner to remove the dirt up inside the housing and in the screen. When all cleaned up, add engine oil(NO multi-weight) to the stamped line inside the bowl (approx. 1/2 full), if you overfill it no damage is done it will just smoke,as this forces the intake air through the oil bath, thus removing most contaminents. I'm assuming that the orginal air cleaner is what you are working with(air intake on dash); some tractors have been changed to use a dry "modern" filter.
