TE20 Hydraulic pump

Help! I have been fighting with my pump for months. I have replaced the control valve, safety valve, chamber valves, and gaskets. The pistons and chambers measure out good. The main lift piston is good. After taking the pump apart and reassembling it it works great for a couple hours then looses its lift. This happens every time the pump is removed and taken apart. I use fresh 90w gear oil. The manual says 90w mineral oil. Could the oil make a difference? Its not a temperature thing because it still wont work after cooling down. I'm ready to drive it over the bank. Any help will be appreciated.

i had the same problem just change the oil for some standard engine oil its a bit thicker and helps the pump to work more efficently. Email me if this does or doesnt work and i will see what i acn do.

Hi Jeff

I suspect that your control valve is sticking in the down position. Does the touch lever feel "funny" when you try to raise it? Next time it sticks remove the right side cover (main brake side)and see if you can move the control valve in and out. If the valve moves freely then check the control fork linkage. The linkage should work freely with no binding.When you removed the hydraulic lift cover did you notice if the linkages were tight, my linkage pins and pivit holes were worn out causing the lift to stick now and then.Check it out and post back what you find.Good Luck

Make sure that you have the correct O-rings and backup washers on the standpipe and that they are in good condition. Also the hyd. oil should be non-detergent
