MF35 3point lifts but will not lower

any easy fix?

I just bought a MF35 that had been sitting for a while before someone repaired the 1st stage fuel pump and sold it to me. The lift functioned when I bought it, but the longer I used it the more difficult it was to lower the lift. Now it raises as soon as I start the tractor, and will not go back down. The I&T manual say it is a damaged control valve spring on the pump. Is there any easy fix for this if it is just plugged up with trash?
