Good idea.... but.... The internal hydraulic pump will put out only about 4 gpm at full delivery. This makes for slooooww operation on a wood splitter cylinder because of the long stroke and (usually) large bore for power. The arrangement of the Ferguson hydraulics on the 35's and earlier models reduces the pump output as the lift arms come up - to zero with the arms full up. Remote operation therefore works best with the arms down. Using the ports on the side of the casting requires 2 braces to lock the arms down - a factory option. The 3-point drawbar is placed in the lift arms, and these braces connect on the outer ends, along with sway bars, and hook into the top link attach point, giving a solid drawabar. Without these braces, in remote operation, when you move the position control to raise, the arms come up first and shut the pump off.... A more practical option is a switch valve to replace the small cover on the right front of the differential cover casting. $100 - $130 US. This valve switches the hydraulic flow between internal 3-point lift and a remote control valve. (You can't operate both at the same time, however - it's either one or the other.) Some of these valves have an oil return port built in; some require another hole in the case for return flow. Hope this helps. Good luck - you have GREAT tractors!
