Power steering problem

I recently installed a new power steering pump on
my TO-35 (the old one had broken gears) and after
filling the resevoir and after a few minutes of
engine idle, the power steering fluid began to
flow out of the steering column, just below the
steering wheel, pumping out the entire contents.
Ideas anyone? Thank you.
Roger

The rack on the slave cylender is probably the old style and has damaged the seal on the piston rod allowing the pump oil to fill the gear housing. The new style rack is pinned in a different direction and will not fail. get out your 1000 dollar bill to fix it at a dealer. parts arn't cheep.
