I have a to20 that will not run without choke on. Engine has good compression, and I have rebuilt the carb. and done a tune up? any help. Thanks

Make sure you aren't entraining air through a joint that isn't well seated (like where the carb bolts to the intake). This leans things out requiring a little choke.

You may try cleaning and/or replacing the sediment bowl also

My TO30 was doing the same thing. Here's what I did--I completely cleaned the air cleaner, put fresh oil in it, and then adjusted the carb. to specs. It now runs without the choke being on. I also put some carb. cleaner in the gas. I also cleaned the air intake from the dash and to the carb. You might try the above.

when you removed the bowl Did you remove the filter? as my wife would say YOU mean that thing sticking down into the glass thingie???
about the size of your little finger??
reach over there and unscrew it!! It is a searies of brass washers (thin) with slots.iI flush mine with clean gas or airor wd 40 it is the filter. Reinstall some times i have to do it twice to get rid of the dirt/water/rust..
Sound's like your trouble.
