i need to travel 5 miles to a field .i have a lift on a 4x4 which i could suspend the front of the tractor.what i would like to know is it possable to tow at say 40 mph

Ray is right. Just drive it. I haul mine on a trailer quite a bit and it can be a pain loading and unloading. Wish I just had 5 miles to go.
Pretend it's a convertible and have a ball!

Anything over the maximum tractor self-propeled speed is too fast. This is around 24mph. The rear tires are not made for speed, and will fail. Five miles is not excessive to drive the tractor. Traveling 24mph, you will go 5 miles in approx. 13 min. However you decide to get the tractor to you destination,the harshest wear you subject tractor tires to is on a hard surface. Those are my thoughts.
