My 1950 TO20 seems to be very fast - 1st runs at 4-5 mph, 4th gear can run in excess of 20mph. How can I correct this problem? Pull the gearbox and change? Or is there a simpler fix?
Also - what type of gear oil or fluid do I use in the trans and 3 pt hydraulic system?

Your TO20 is operating at the correct speeds. First is near 3.4mph@2000rpm,fourth is near 13.5@2000rpm. Buy a owners manual from the local MF dealer, you'll be glad you did. I've about worn mine out over the last 15yrs. It isn't like the "owners manuals" you get with lawnmowers and such, this will actually tell you usefull information.
