I tried th "pinning" to repair three cracks between the cylinder sleeves at the bottom. The "pinning worked on the crack between 1 and 2 and between 2 and 3, However, there is a steady drip between 3 and 4. So, I'm back in the market for a TO-20 or TE-20 block. Find you a good welding shop that is familiar with welding cast iron. As I have said in earlier post I have fixed a lot of the Z series Continental blocks over the years and never had any trouble with any them.

Denny, just between you and me I think I would be inclined to try what Retired suggested. I have heard a lot of the guys on the forum say that is the way to do it. Possibly some one could look at yours and say no problem. Remanufactured blocks are quite high priced from what I hear and used blocks from $400 to $700. Just my .02 worth. Richard
