THE GEAR BOX PLUG SAYS 90W WINTER 50W SUMMER IS THIS GEAR OIL OR CAN I USE TRACTOR HYDRAULIC FLUID

The fluid should be GL1-90W mineral oil NOT a gear oil or you can also use a Multi-grade 15W/40 oil instead , this is better if you are in a cold winter climate as it flows more easily when cold. I think that the wording on the plug reads 90W in summer and 80w in winter, this refers to the GL1-type oil. The normal tractor hydraulic fluid is usually very thin, the oil in this system should be as thick as engine oil....John
