Every thing was working fine and then we parked it for a little while and nothing would lift The "54 T-30 had a Freeman front loader on it which we decided to remove because we didn"t like the way you couldn"t use the front or rear independently. We also thought restoring back to the way it was meant to be used was a better way to go. We bought a plow and would like to start plowing but Hydraulics not getting it done. Can anyone help?????

If you have removed the loader and the valve with the levers is still in place on the tractor, it needs one of the levers fastening back to stop the oil circulating through the valve, then the rear hydraulics should work. Make sure you have the PTO in drive. You may have to block one of the ports on the valve that the hoses attach to otherwise the oil will pour out, it depends on what you have done when you took it off. If you have done that and the hydraulics still don"t work, remove the left round plate under the seat and you will see the control fork hanging down from the top, GENTLY move it forwards and backwards till it is free, use a long bar so you keep your fingers out of the housing. When you removed the loader what did you do with the pressure line tapped off the hydraulic system? Just removing the line from the loader may not have restored the system completely. Check for flow and pressure at the taps on the front corners of the lift cover to be sure the plumbing is intact. If nothing there, check the tap on the corner of the hydraulic pump base. If still nothing, Marlowe's question may apply or some trash may have plugged a line or blocked the pressure relief valve. Search this forum for earlier questions and you will find some very thorough and accurate descriptions of how to systematically check the pump.
