Today I picked up the starter for my TO35 from the auto electric shop. The guy stated that the starter I had seemed to have been cobbled together out of worn parts from several starters. He built a new starter for me out of new components, it looks alot more heavy duty than the old one. I'm looking forward to trying it out. The downside is that the thing was 217.00!! Thats pretty painful, but at least I have a brand new starter. Happy tractoring.

The pain will ease with every perfect start. :D
Money well spent especially if you had a real bitza which gave trouble. And it sure beats a hand crank! :wink:
I have stuffed around endlessly with my own bitza starter motor. The next time it fails I'm going to bite the bullet and throw it into the deepest darkest recess of the shed where other offerings to the gods of junk lie and no man dares venture. :twisted:

probally could gotten one off the internet for less than that but like you said its done now and good to go. that rebuild shop give you a warranty of any kind?

The receipt says 90 days, but I imagine he would still help you out after that for goodwill. That shop has been around forever. If the starter works as good as it looks I'll be happy.
