Okay, I've spent a little time over at the Ford side of YT and have several older Fords. My step Dad recently passed away and I sold his TO20 for my Mom. Well, being the tractor troll that I am, I found this 1949 TE20 on craigslist tonight, and I'm going to pick it up in the morning. The paint looks 'custom' to me. I don't know the serial number yet, but can anyone give me some guidance on the paint? Is the TE20 a desirable model?

Thanks for all the replies. I sure do love this board. I think it will be a welcome addition. I currently have a few Fords (1955 850, 1959 821, 1964 4000LP), a 1971 Massey 135 diesel, and a Kubota B20 for the light work. My wife thinks I'm crazy.

This one is quite nice, it looks like it has the smaller front wheels. Many had 19inch front wheels. Grey would be the color and it was and is a nice tractor. Blows the Ford N's out of the water. Much more torque.

Color should be all grey. Looks like that one has been sitting too close to a Ford 8N.JIm.

The tractors were all grey. If it is a TE20 then it maybe earlier than 1949 as the bulk of the TE20's were completed in 1948. The tractors were sold all over the world and over 500,000 were made plus 140,000 that were made in the USA and sold as the TO20 and TO30. There are still many thousands of them working today...John

richard. All the TE series tractors were available in any color you wanted - providing it was Ferguson gray!!! :lol:
If that is a '49 TE20, all the red parts have been repainted.
