I recently bought a very nice skyline loader off of a fella----one condition-I remove it and bring the TO30 back to him.
Everything is very obvious, except the extention coming off the crank pulley THROUGH the axle pivot hole to front mount pump.
I am wondering if I have to pull the entire front axle in order to pull the extention out?
I think I can use a saws-all to cut the bolts at the crank pulley, BUT, even then the larger plate will not come through pivot hole.
Am I smart to cut the extention in half, leave the crank plate mounted, and attempt to weld another "crank shaft end" to the extension?
I am not wanting to get so far into his tractor that I am pulling crankshaft pulleys just to get the ENTIRE rod off.
Are these available as a replacement if I cannot repair the extension ?
Any advise on front hydraulic pump mounting and dismounting appreciated.
I gave him 50.00 for the entire thing and it is in great shape. I like the arc look.
Do all fergy crank pulley have the mounting hole for a pump, or should I pull his pulley and replace with one of mine?
Thanks, Mark

Mark, Your hookup to the crank pulley maybe similar to my TO 20, the shaft that is attached to the adapater plate on the crank is threaded, it is a LEFT hand thread. If you can lock the engine from turning put a small pipe wrench on the shaft and lossen it in a clockwise rotation, this drove me nuts a few years back until an old Ferguson mechanic told me how to remove it. hope this helps you out.

A big thanks to Mike, it was reverse threaded and came right off.
The crank pulley is soooo wore out on the 4 holes for the adapter plate that I just left it installed and will look for a new one for my personal use.
Thanks for major tip. Mark

I am wondering if the extension is splined (similar to a very small p.t.o. shaft, and just slides into the pulley.?
The pulley on the crank does have the rubber holes for vibration dampening.
Is it possible that I can just slide the extention out and leave the splined female attached to the crank pulley?
Surely I can purchase another adapter plate to mount to MY TO30 crank pulley.
Are these adapter plates bolted to the crank pulley, or threaded into the hole where the hand crank bolt goes. I'm wondering if I can slide the extension out of the center of the crank pulley adapter, AND then, unscrew the adaper plate and remove from the side of the tractor axle pivot area?
This way I would have all the needed parts for my install.
I guess Im not sure how to remove as much as I can.
Many thanks Mark

Yes, you should be able to slide the shaft out. Do that, and remove the loader, and then go to work trying to get the adaptor pulley. You will need and want it.

Your '30 is probably like my '20. The front pulley has 4 holes, 2&3/4 inch center to center. To the front of this pulley is mounted an adapter. This adapter has rubber bushings around 4 metal mounting bushings to help dampen out vibration. The center of the adapter is splined to accept the front pump drive shaft that slides in and out. The sliding shaft is 3/4 inch diameter and has 6 splines. The pulley can be a very difficult item to locate and a new one is currently not available. The adapter and shaft are still available.
No, I did not take any photos of the adapter...
Yet. Speaking of which, the radiator is not yet in place and I might be able to get some sort of photo. First to post this.
