Well, Ron, these guys have given you good advice. Jim's comment reminded me of a V-8 Ford car I had that would overheat when the A/C was switched on. Turned out it had NO thermostat. Apparently if the coolant circulates through the radiator too quickly, it doesn't cool down, as Jim said. Try a new thermostat. Good luck! Tex

Sounds like the New/Rebuilt radiator might need rodded out. I had a problem like this before the more water I tried to circulate thru it (with your increased speed) the hotter it would get. Sounds as though you are not 100% sure of the radiator that was installed two owners ago. That was my first thoughts!! GOOD LUCK.

check your timing. That can make it overheat fast.

I'd first remove the rad. cap and look for bubbles in the water. This could indicate a blown head gasket (compression leaking into a water passage). If no bubbles, remove the thermostat from the top hose, and check the bottom hose for spongeness/softness. The suction from the pump can collapse a bad hose shutting off the flow. Use air or water pressure to flush the rad. fins from the engine side to remove the trash. Insure the fan belt is adjusted and it's not worn slick and hard, if it is, a little belt dressing(more is not better) will partally renew it. Thats my ideas.
