Robert, these are some of the issues I am talking about in balers, some good, some bad in all brands. A worn out baler, that you cannot get parts for is not much fun to use or own.

From MF forum:
Planning for hay season. I have a #3 MF baler with #10 knotter. When I have light windrows the twine seems to break or excessively frays. I had it serviced and it cost more than the baler was worth. Corrected some of the problem, but problem still lives on. Is this a common problem? Any troubleshooting ideas would be helpful. Thank You

Ferguson Made a Tractor Mate Baler for these Tractors.
Most were bought back by the Company and destroyed.
They are very rare and were hooked on to the side of the Tractor.
That having been said we had good luck on our farm with Massey
Ferguson Balers. If they were not too worn out a #3 or a #10 were both very good.
We had the use of a New Holland Super 66 baler one time. Not Impressed.

I agree with others on baler brand, stick with New Holland.

Any brand machine can move the hay through the baler machine, what seperates the men from the boys in balers in the knotters. New Holland made a good knotter system and most tractor companys, no matter their brand of tractors carried New Holland balers, because they worked.

I have a friend that had a (T14 John Deere) and he said it worked good. But all these guys pulled the baler with a larger tractor than a TO20.

That could be a issue, not sure.

Most beautiful music you ever heard was a AC WD-45 pulling a New Holland baler. The sensitive governors on the tractor would open up with each stroke of the plunger.

if you can find a nh 65 a great baler and made for small tractors i used a superc farmall and worked great

i baled with a newholland model 68 with mine on mostly flat ground.sometimes you gotta pop her outta gear real quick so the baler can catch up if your in heavy hay
