Here I am a glutton for punishment. Got a 9N front axle from Jim.UT, Thank you again! I took it down to a friend and got it reinforced on the back side with two chunks of diamond plate steel welded in on either side. This should ensure it wont crack from the abuse of a FEL on my TO-20. I stuffed the bushing into the hole and noticed it both slid in way too easy and the hole is slightly egg shaped. I got a larger flanged bushing and it's too fat to even begin to go in the hole. Contacted one machine shop via email and sent photos of this fun. He shot back a 4 hour bid @ $70 per hour. OUCH! So, I am curious as to: Did you use an "automotive" machine shop? How much did you pay? How did it get straightened out (machining operation used)? Thanks in advance!

I dont remeber what I paid to be honest but the guy I go to seems pretty reasonable on everything. I think I paid 40.00 to have the 2 bearings bored and pressed in the forge blower.
TOH said 1 hour, I'm thinking 1-2 hours tops even without being familiar with the tractor parts. He welded the steel busing in with heli-arc and did not add to cracking problems.
I took the brass bearing in with the axel so they had it in hand.
