I am getting ready to install new PTO shaft, bearings, and gaskets in a Fergason TO 30 any body have any recomdations or tips

I put the 1 1/8 back in my To30 so I could put a belt pulley on for a buzz saw put front down hill and took the 4 nuts off and just pulled the shaft out I will put the 1 3/8 back if I have to use a mower this is a easy switch long as the shaft is not twisted in the coupling

For about $20 or so you can buy a coupling that converts the 1 1/8 to 1 3/8.

From what I have seen about removing and replacing a pto shaft on this forum it is not hard at all. Like Phil said you may have to hook something to the shaft to get it started out then the new one should slide right in. I haven't had to do that yet just what I have read. You asked where to find that on here. In the SEARCH FOR box type in "pto removal"
then click GO and you should have several threads to read. Good Luck

Lots of previous posts on this subject. One method, if you are not replacing the fluid at the same time, is to drive the front of the tractor into a ditch to keep from losing much fluid. Old shaft should pull out easily, but if it doesn"t try hooking something onto it like the PTO connection off a bush hog to give you more leverage as you pull.
