TO30 Steering Box Seals

I'm restoring a TO30 that set in the barn with a bad crank for 10 yaers, I've got the engine rebuilt. painted, "frame painted, ready to start putting it together. I seam to remember the two shafts/arms coming out of both sides of the steering box leaked a little oil/gease. Now with all this shiney grey paint, I don't want it messed up with a leaking steering box. I'm not finding any place on line selling seals for these two arms, can someone educate me? I guess I should have bought a parts manual a long time ago. Ha!

If the TO20/30 steering box is the same as the TEA20, you don�t need to disassemble the steering box to change the drop arm seals.
Grind off the centering nipples on the drop arms and the old seal will slip over the drop arm �shoulder� and new seal will fit on the same way, in reverse.

Correct, but since he has his tractor already painted--I didnt think grinding the tab off was a good idea.

OR, Pump her full of John Deere Cornhead grease.
It comes in tubes and is very thin, YET, will not run out of seal.
That is assuming there are some seals still in there. I put about 6 tubes in my TO30 and works fine.
Actually make for higher rpms, so a steering gears are MORE than protected. Mark

Yup, I did the same thing. If you heat the cartridges in a bucket of hot water, they will pour through a funnel. No leaks or drools yet.

I can help you with those seals. any auto parts store should be able to get them. the original chicago rawhide number is: 13027. But that changes up to a Federal Mogul National number of: 473423 I bought mine at O'reiley's auto parts store. I hope that helps.
