Valve Stem Lash Caps

I don't see how folks get by without using Lash Caps on their TO30's. The standard exhaust valve stems have small holes in the ends and on 2 rocker arm assemblies that I have seen, all the exhaust rockers had imprints worn into them. Also, without the extra thickness of the Lash Caps, it gets to be marginal on the adjustment of the clearance setting screws. I made me a set of Lash Caps but did not get them as tight as I would like. Suction of oil should hold them onto the stem. The Ferguson has excessive clearance on the valves at 0.0013 thousandth or so and the caps could rattle around. NOMINAL thickness of commercial caps are 0.080" so add some to the adjustment range.

I have purchased a SET of 16 (standard for V8 Cars) and only need 8 of these. Total thickness of the caps are 0.230" with a diameter of 5/16". Would like to sell the 8 extras to anyone that wants to properly rebuild the Z129 engine (and maybe Z134).

I have problems with the lack of concern folks seem to have on some parts that I know are needed to fix these tractors correctly. It leads me to believe that a lot are only being band-aided out there. For band-aid parts, I have some of those also to get rid of. Some poor owner before me on my TO30 spend good bucks lashing things together - absolutely no wear on the new Z134 pistons and sleeves and also no wear on the clutch plate. But the 0.030 under crankshaft and rod journals were toast. You figure. He may have gotten 20 hours out of his overhaul money; and then parked it/sold it in frustration. It pays to check the oil flow. I paid $400 for the beast.
