TO 20 steering shaft rotating up when turning.

I have allready tried adjusting the screws on either side of the housing. what can i try to fix this problem. would adjusting the lock nut fix this problem. thank you randy TX

Since the lower bearing is held in place by the race at the bottom of the upper column section, I would suspect both the adj. nuts are loose allowing the shaft to drop lower than usual as well as the top bearing being loose. Tighten the top bearing so the shaft does not move up and down then adj. the side screws for the sector shafts. If thius does not work, remove the top steering section and inspect the bearings. They might have broken from a lack of lubrication...
