Does any one know the center distance between the pivot pin center and the pin retaining bolt hole. I have a 51 To30 and it appears the axle mount had been rebuild years ago and the pin did not align properly. It appears the pin was cocked so the the bolt didn't tighten properly. Now I have a very worn axle mount that i need to rebuild and need the center to center distance of the pivot pin. Thanks

Thanks everyone for the information. I might be interested in a new front mount. I think Dad and I are going to try to rebuild it. He is a welder/ fabricator with about 40 yrs exp. We have already discussed what is involved including creating a wider surface area for the for the pin to ride on. I kinda like the challenge of rebuiding something worn out. At least until im standing in the middle of a field cussing "this worn out piece of crap" haha

I would think if you drilled it out and tapped it for a bigger bolt that should work. The purpose is to hold the pin in.

Here are some measurements I took.
Top hole 1.790
bottom hole 0.676
top of top hole to bottom of bottom hole 2.790
About 1 5/8" Center to center
Hope this helps.
If you can't repair it I have one for sale you can email me at [email protected] if interested.

Joe in TN,
The CC distance is 1.50" and the bolt hole through the plate looks to be 7/8" (couldn't do an inside measurement to be sure). The pin hole looks to be 1.75" but you might want to drill it a little small and fit the new pin - this dimension should be snug since it doesn't move.

The hole in the front plate IS 5/8" - the bolt has a 7/8" shoulder that fits in the pin. If I were rebuilding it I think I would drill the plate so I could tap it AND the mount.

I learn so much here - for instance, I should not have taken the bolt out to measure without putting a jack under the mount... Something that should have been 2 minutes took 10. Oh well.

Joe, I have a 52 TO30 I am parting out and took off the front support today. What do you need measured, the front hole in the support to the bolt hole on the pin . center to center?

I am looking for the distance from the center of the pivot pin to the center of the bolt hole. So that when I begin to drill the new repair plate i can get my measurements correct. I intend to replace the pivot pin and axle bushing. Unfortunetly it appears my grandfather whom I got this from never replaced either in the over thirty years he owned. Nom I have alot of excess wear as well as a not so wonderful repair from before he owned it. Fabrication is not an issue if I have specs. Thank you

Sorry, I just reread you post and you said what to what. If the bolt hole is still intact you really should bolt the new pin in place and see what the fill-in measurements are. Be careful to not let your repair intrude into the space at the front of the mount since your axle needs to be at the very front when the wheels are close set.

question: center of what to center of what? If you have a new pivot pin (and it certainly sounds like you need one) then it's length should define the front to back distance and the flat plate welded to the front of the mount should be perpendicular to the pin centerline. If it is worn more than can be repaired from there, I would be looking for another mount. If the pin and bushings have been changed when needed a mount will last for a lot more than 50 or 60 years.
