I have a TO20 that sat up for nine years. I have installed new everything electrical and put a new kit in the carburater. Fuel system has all been cleaned with a good flow of gas. The problem is, I am not getting gas up into the intake. I can give the carb a shot of either and the engine starts right up. It just dosen,t pull the gas. The tractor has plenty of suction through the carb. Any ideas???? Thyanks, Frank

Hello, You may have put the wrong kit in the carb. Marvel makes that carb for many different size engines, compare the holes in the atomizer tube and jets and put the old ones back if they are different-ed

I just solved a similar problem with my TEA20. The gasket between the carburetor and the intake manifold was brittle and leaking badly. I made a new gasket and it seemed to help. Try it; can't hurt!

Check the carburetor inlet screen. Its attached to the inlet adapter. I've seen them plugged tight with dirt and varnish.

Does gas come out of the bowl drain? If there is no gas there then there is no way to get it into the intake and you need to check the float valve and passage. If gas flows freely out the bowl drain then the only parts between there and the venturi are the metering jet and the main jet tube (presuming you have the carb innards squeaky clean) and if the parts are new they may be blocked or might even be manufactured wrong. Again, he is right on.
I take off and soak EVERY new tractor carb that comes to me.....AND do the same to my own tractors once a year.
Even when they seem to run fine, they run even better after a good cleanin'
The gallon cans of carb cleaner have nice little basket built right in them.
You will need a 1/4" drive deep socket to take the long center tube out. Other than that, pretty simple. Just keep track of ALL the small pieces. mark

I think your carb is dirty. You need to remove your carb, disassemble it and let it sit in carb cleaner for at least 24 hrs. Then blow out the passages to make sure they are all clean and rebuild it. It"s not hard to do. Making sure that all the passages are squeaky clean is probably the most important part of a carb rebuild. A kit for a complete rebuild is about $30. The 8N section has a "how to" for rebuilding Marvel-Schebler carbs in the Article section of Research & Info.
