TO30 no oil pressure

Having problems with oil not pumping. Oil pump has been rebuilt. pump appears to work when operated by hand but oil not pumping through engine. Not getting any oil pressure.

i installed new oil pressure gauge and got no oil pressure. i had to unhook the line at the gauge till i got oil flow then it worked.

I have heard the oil pump gear can spin in it's shaft under load, not turning the pump. If rebuilt and done right, this should not be your problem, but you can also check against the manual for proper relief valve specs, adding a washer or two to increase pressure.

Assuming that your pump is turning, you may have an air leak in the oil suction tube so your oil pump won"t prime. Your bearings may be worn. Your relief valve may be stuck open but you should get some oil pressure in that case. Disconnect the gauge tubing at the engine and crank the engine over and see if oil comes out. If it doesn"t you need to check the pick up tube. If it does, connect it at the engine and disconnect at the gauge and see if it comes out. If it doesn" the tube is plugged if it does, then the gauge maybe be bad. if you have a test gauge, you can also attach it at the side fitting and see what it measures.
