TO30 Air Filter Housing

I recently purchased a to30 and the air filter housing had duct tape holding the bottom of the housing onto the upper portion. What held the bottom on and where would I find the piece I need? This is my first tractor, so I am just beginning to learn about my tractor.

One easy, quick fix could be to assemble the bottom cup to the filter housing then drill two small holes at diametric opposite positions through the cup and the housing where they fit together, where the clamp goes. Then use an appropiately sized self tapping bolt in each hole to hold the two pieces together. Just my idea of a quick repair. Lance

That is a good idea. I am going to try and find a used clamp if I can. The dealer says the part has been discontinued. I am not currently using the tractor. I bought it on Christmas Eve because friend of mine needed money. I gave $1300.00 for it, which I am hoping was fair price. It runs well, looks decent and the hydraulics work.

If there are any Massey Ferguson dealerships in your area, you might start there. Then look in the salvage yards, on ebay, etc.

If you want to see a picture of what they look like, go to tractor parts on this site and look for the air cleaner clamp for the Ford 2n. I don"t know if they are the same size as the Ferguson clamp or not - you might get lucky.

I read the forum quite a bit and don't answer alot of questions. maybe feel alittle unsure of giving imformation. I have taken two old fergy's and restored them. a 20 & a 30. I 've split them both and put in a new clutch and put overdrive in mine. What I like the most about the forum is to see how many new people come with their ( I JUST GOT MY 1st FERGY AND NEED HELP ) and all the people that are right there for them. Good luck with the 30 !!

The oil cup was held on by a special clamp that gripped the rolled edges of the cup and the cleaner housing. The part number is 15 203A and is common to the TO-30 and TO-20 and TE-20.

Some TE-20's had two clips that held the cup on. They are similar to the distributor cap clips.

My parts manual says they are the same Jeff. I wonder if there was a change in the design?
