TO-20 SER. NO. 412883 MOTOR NO. 43530 a I CANNOT SEEM TO LOCATE PEEP HOLE FOR TIMING. I HAVE LOOKED ALL OVER DIS. SIDE OF ENGINE, INCLUDING TAKING OUT STARTER AND LOOKING FOR TIMING MARKS THERE, ALSO TOOK OF FLYWHEEL INS. COVER, FOUND TIMING MARKS ON FLYWHEEL, BUT NO PEEP HOLE IN INS. COVER , OR MARKS ON CASTING, IS THERE A BOLT I HAVE TO REMOVE FROM PEEP HOLE???? I AM SO CONFUSED!!!! COULD THIS NOT BE ORIGIONAL MOTOR OR COULD THE FLYWHEEL INS. COVER BE NOT STOCK??? ANY HELP IN THIS MATER WILL BE WARMLY RECEIVED TKS...

Do you have the SN right? TO-20's ended with SN below 60,000. Perhaps your finger gor heavy on the 8? is it SN 41283?

THERE IS A PUSH ON CAP HIDING IT FROM YOU BENEATH A LAYER OF YUCK. IT IS AS SHOWN IN THE PHOTO.

Here is a picture of the timing port on my TO30. Your TO20 will have it in the same place. It probably has a plug in that can get covered in paint/grime so it may not be immediately obvious. Hope this helps.

Thks for the info. I had wire brushed all that side off and wiped it off with a rag, i guess my eyes an't what they used to be. now that i know where to look I guess i will go to work with probe and scraper. Again many tks.
