I am restoring a to-30, and bought a new Delco 63 amp alternator for it. It is a single wire alternator with a built in voltage reg.How do I wire this. It is 12 volts, and has no wires on it at all, I have headlights, rear light, and tail light.Where does the alternator wire go to??I want the amp meter to show a charge.

I installed the same unit on my TO35. The one wire alternator only requires that you hook a wire of around 10 or 12 gauge from the charging post on the back of the alternator to the positve post of the battery. Remember to rev the engine up some to turn on the internal regulator of the alternator to get it charging. As for your ammeter, that depends on if it is presently located on the postive or negative battery cable. To use 12 volt negative ground power, I am almost certain the ammeter would have to be connected on the positive side. I assume that your tractor is already using 12 volt negative ground power. If not, there are other things you will need to take care of first. My tractor was already 12 volt when I purchased it, so I don't have any experience with the 6 volt system.
